Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Florence Jobs.
For job seekers
How do I find a care job without going through an agency?
Florence Jobs matches care sector workers directly with employers. You create a free profile, and organisations who want to hire you reach out directly, with no commission taken on a hire.
Is Florence Jobs free for job seekers?
Yes. There are no subscriptions, fees, or credits for job seekers. It is free to use and always will be.
How long does it take to find a care job on Florence Jobs?
The average time to first match is 48 hours, and the average time to fill a role is 18 days.
Does Florence Jobs list individual shifts?
No. Florence Jobs matches job seekers with care providers and agencies looking to hire. It doesn't publish a shift board. Once matched, the hiring organisation and the candidate agree the working arrangement directly.
What care roles can I find on Florence Jobs?
Carers, senior carers, support workers, domiciliary carers, RGN and RMN nurses, deputy and registered care home managers, chefs, housekeepers, maintenance staff, activities coordinators, and care administrators.
Does Florence Jobs cover Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, or just England?
Florence Jobs covers the whole of the United Kingdom, including England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
How does AI matching work for care jobs?
You tell Florence Jobs what kind of role you want, and the platform's AI matches you with organisations hiring near you who fit that criteria. Employers can then send a match request, and your details are only shared once you accept.
Do I need experience to get a care job on Florence Jobs?
No set experience level is required by the platform itself. It's down to each individual hirer to decide how much experience they need for a role.
Will hirers know how to contact me?
Only when you've applied to their role, or when you accept a match request from a hirer who found your profile in our database. You'll get a friendly heads-up either way, and you choose whether to engage.
How do I get started?
Sign up as a seeker from the homepage and build a quick profile. We'll start matching you with roles right away.
For hirers
How much does it cost a care provider to hire through Florence Jobs?
Employers use a simple credit system to post jobs and send match requests, with no agency commission on a hire. There are no subscriptions and no tiers.
Can care home employers search for candidates directly instead of posting a job?
Yes. Employers can search candidates by skill and availability and send a match request directly, rather than only relying on people applying to a posted listing.
Can staffing agencies hire through Florence Jobs?
Yes. Staffing agencies can use the platform to find and match with candidates, particularly for domiciliary care and similar roles.
How much do credits cost?
Credits come in three packs: 10 credits for £20 (£2.00 each), 25 credits for £45 (£1.80 each) and 100 credits for £150 (£1.50 each). Prices exclude VAT. No tiers, no subscription and no hidden fees, and new employers get 5 free credits when they're approved.
What does a credit get me?
One credit unlocks the full contact details (email and phone) of a single candidate, whether they applied to your role or you found them by searching our database. Posting a role costs 5 credits when it's advertised publicly to job seekers, or 1 credit if you keep it search-only so we can match candidates for you privately. Upgrading a search-only role to a public advert later costs the 4-credit difference.
Do I pay anything before I see candidates?
You spend credits when you post a role (1 credit search-only, 5 credits advertised publicly). After that, browsing matches and seeing candidate profiles is free - you only spend another credit when you decide to unlock someone's contact details or send them a message.
Is Florence Jobs connected to Florence's other care sector platform?
Yes. Florence Jobs is part of Florence, which is used by more than 1,000 UK care providers for workforce management, and brings that same sector trust to permanent hiring.
What if a candidate doesn't reply or isn't interested?
Response rates depend a lot on how strong your profile and role are, so it's important to have a quality company profile, a clear role description and realistic pay. We can't promise candidates will always reply, but we show stats on activity and response rate so you don't waste credits on inactive profiles.
What happens if I pay a credit and the candidate doesn't answer me?
We can't promise a reply, but we want you to have a good experience. If a candidate chooses to match but then ignores you, you can report it and it will be flagged on their profile. If you see this on someone's profile then think twice before spending a credit.
Will candidates know I've contacted them?
Yes. When you unlock a seeker, they get a friendly heads-up that you'd like to chat. They choose whether to engage, but you always get their contact info.
